There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.
I'm sad for him, poor guy was just starting his career outside the natal pride, seemingly with a bright future with his brother and the Skorro pride, then Ncila vanishes.
He joins Nzuri and everything seems to be working out again, then he ventures to Ngala and gets killed. He was still in prime, having good chances of siring and raising cubs, I hope his son and daughter can have many offspring to make up for it.
Now let's hope Nzuri can remain with the pride until his brother can go nomadic with him and the cub is at a safer age, as Idk how reliable the Mbiri males will be as protectors of the cub and pride.
It's a bit unbelievable that these over 11yo males who will be reaching 8 years in power in a few months, are still such a menace. Usually we see these younger coalitions displacing the old lions, it even seemed to be the case when Mbiris were consistently weak while Guernsey & Avoca gained ground, attacked the pride, maybe killed a few cubs ( including male white cub ), then suddenly Mbiri recover enough strength and kill the Guernsey male who was a bold prime male.
Now over 11yo they never get to keep their top shape for long, yet one day they're seen looking great and Mandevu is left for dead.
I didn't feel as bad for Guernsey since I barely knew him and at the time he was attacking the Birmingham pride, being a big threat to the cubs, so it felt like Mbiris were just doing their job.
But I'm more familiar with Mandevu and it didn't feel like Nzuri and him were a threatening Mbiris territory or cubs, so this just feels sadder for me and "unnecessary", but again, of course, Mbiris have no such concepts of anything and in their mind this is just normal business so I can't blame them.
A shame, Mandevu gone, one of my favorites, Nzuri, alone, it's brutal.
