Coalitions of Kruger National Park

I don't know much about them, where they were born and stuff, but their territory is south of the Shishangaan's in Satara, while Mayambulas are around S126, so they are sort of neighbors.

If that area is their natal area, then I guess they are territorial there.

Every lion got chased at some point, true, but the only time Mbiri got chased 1v1 or 2v2 was when Scar was limping. A Mbiri could have possibly/likely chased that Kumana off, in enemy territory, at the age of 3. But the prime Mayambula couldn't.

But being the sons of Mbiri was just a smaller factor, as it's unreasonable to expect lions to have the same personality as their fathers necessarily. The more important factor was that Kumana are just establishing themselves, being nomads with their father until not long ago and probably not even having to oust males to take over, while Mayambulas became dominant at 3yo, having been ruling for a long time, having cubs already and experience of ousting the 3 impressive Sweni males, so one would expect them to be more confident than a Kumana.

Vlak #2 was seen running in a road, in a "mission" a few weeks ago, and yesterday or so Vlak #1 was also running in the same way through the bush. A few months ago, when Sweni cubs were seen for the first time, Vlak #2 was with them, a bit skinny and limping with injuries to his back and hindlimbs.

Maybe these 2 coalitions have some sort of rivalry already over their borders. Reply
