EDIT: I Left out the Birmingham White Male . So we now have 5
In recent weeks, news of the White lions in Greater Kruger has been mixed.
On the good news side, we were treated with a good update that the Black Dam Pride on the Sandringham property has a young white male cub raising the count of known white lions to 4 (Casper, White Birmingham Princess, Young Female Birmingham Cub, and New BD male cub).
But news has also been less than ideal, with Casper not looking his fittest and another of his brothers looking very very frail. Then we saw the young female cub of the Birmingham with a severel wound on her face. Not even a week later, the white princess herself was also seen w new fácial wounds and injuries.
Well, maybe now another positive news if true.
A video of a white cub started circulating on social media this week. Attempts to contact author to discern timeline and location were a bit spotty but new information suggests it’s recent and while still trying to confirm, May even be a cub from the Skorro Pride and sired by the Mongawane.
We will continue to nail down accuracy but It would be amazing to add bother white lion and the first in a different area (Orpen)
