There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Coalitions of Kruger National Park

The dynamics in Casper the White Lion’s territory, along with his Shishangaan Brothers and the Satara Lion Pride, are shifting rapidly. A new lion coalition has emerged in the area surrounding Satara Rest Camp in Kruger National Park. This coalition consists of two young males from the Ngotso South-S90 lineage and their ally, the young Nsemani male, who is the son of Senior Mbiri and Rockfig. The upheaval began when Casper, Mfowethu, and Casanova, accompanied by two lionesses and two small cubs, were last seen on January 29th near the H6 road, heading south toward the Sweni River. Notably absent was Footloose, who may have succumbed to his injuries after breaking a leg, rendering him unable to hunt or move effectively. Casanova and Mfowethu appear to be in poor condition and are nearing the end of their lives, whereas Casper, despite previous struggles, seems to be improving and holding on. In a twist of fate, the Ngotso South males responsible for driving them from the Satara region are the very offspring of the three S90 Pride Males that killed four of Casper’s Shishangaan Brothers in 2018. Will Casper, the White Lion, and his remaining Shishangaan brothers return to the Satara area to confront the young intruding Ngotso South males head-on?
