There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Particularly from K5. K4 seems to do this more often now, since his injury, maybe the injury and knocking down of his confidence has made him a bit more needy, or at least more seeking of his brother's affection, when he used to be quite happy being a bit of a loner. And it's kinda sad to see him often getting rejected when he goes for a head rub.
Yes, he definetly fall of in hierarcy.
Less dominant/injured/unhealthy males often seek "affection" of more dominant/stronger partners.
Reason? Prob they want to strenghten the bond, as they want that "security/protection" from them in return, to replace their own weakness.
Obviously, more dominant/stronger lions often dont like that, as they are feeling that weakness in them and lose respect towards him.
Same how Mandevu was rejecting Ncile up until Ncile was strong enough again to kick his ass.
Lions hierarcy is all about strenght, if you are not strong enough (for whatever reason) you will be seen as "weakness" and "burden".
