Plains Camp Males

A crisp winter morning greeted us with a remarkable scene—two Plains Camp Male Lions at the Londolozi causeway, feeding on a hippo carcass likely killed by a larger bull. While one male focused on the feast, the other picked up the scent of female lions in the area the night before.

Already deep in the Ndzhenga Males’ territory, the pair pushed even further in search of these females. However, the mission was abandoned, and they returned to the carcass. Witnessing these two powerful lions stride past our vehicle on their determined march was nothing short of breathtaking.
