There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

The loss of Rasta was a really big blow, just as the loss of KT was even bigger, but, I still believe that the loss of Dreadlocks, to poachers, was the biggest loss to the 6 Mapogos. They had been able to regroup and recover from all of the others, and Dreadlocks played a big role in that. Once Dreadlocks was killed, the end of the Mapogo reign came relatively quickly afterwards.
Ye his death very quickly signified the end of them, eventhough they held off for Selatis a few times, it was never enough. It’s always been said that around the time he died, Dreadlocks could have been the most dominant at that time, if he doesn’t die they prolly hold off the Selatis longer than they did and are able to raise their cubs, would likely have some male offspring that survived too.
Altogether tho it wouldn’t have changed a lot, PB still would have eventually succumb to TB, although maybe not as fast still being a pride male, Makhulu still likely would have passed away in 2013 being he was 15. Would have been hard for Dreadlocks and T to do anything other than raise their current cubs before being ousted themselves.
Nothing worse than a lion not being able to choose his own way out, and I genuinely do believe they know these things. When they go into territorial fights, they know their life is on the line but see a greater upside to fighting and being able to keep onto the pride they have, I don’t at all think it’s just all instinctual. There’s too many videos like HB going in circles, constantly changing his scent and throwing the Majingilanes off to accept they’re not atleast partly knowledgeable in their actions.
