There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

They heard a grunt from the Ndzhengas and then had a quick "chat" or something like that. I think there's a lot more subtext to lion dynamics in a back-and-forth chase than we realise.
Yea, that turn is very interesting.
Wonder what PCMs heard that they knew this is the time we turn.
Did they stopped hearing roars/grunts from OE? And when they turned around they only saw Amahle close?
Or maybe they heard "different" grunt from Ndhzengas, we still know very little about grunts/roars/contact calls and what they mean in different scenarios.
Maybe Amahle or OE contact called, which would be straight signal to PCMs that they are split.
Fascinating stuff which we dont understand.
Just like the recent video I posted, in which the male lion stopped four lionesses from attacking a sub male, with a single roar. He made that roar, and all 4 lionesses stopped, at the same time, it was incredible to see. Impossible for us to know what it was that caused the PCMs to stop and turn like they did, but they both did it simultaneously. Really fascinating stuff.
