Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Is he a Kruger lion?
I heard Aslan the lion from the Norway zoo is a mix between a Kenyan lion and a Kruger lioness, is that true?
He is southern African. Some of his great grandparents are from Kapama as per studbook online, while other grandparents of unknown origin I.e anywhere from Southern Africa, could be South Africa, botswana or Kgalagadi region. I'm not sure what lions are in Kapama private reserve, but one thing is sure that they are from southern Africa (Namibia, Botswana, Kgalagadi region, South Africa). There are many private reserves in south Africa, For instance Madikwe, Tembe elephant park, Marataba reserve, Kwandwe reserve and Pilanesberg have lions originally from Etosha, Namibia. Phinda reserve have original stock from Kruger, later mixed with Madikwe lineage, Addo have lions from Kgalagadi region.
No, Aslan is a Generic lion but he have east African, Southern African , Sudanese blood and other genes .The history goes back to UK, where in 60's already pre existing generic lions were mixed with lions from Uganda imported by Jimmy Chipperfield, later they are mixed with southern African and from other parts of Africa. Aslan's father and mother are generic lions and so are his great grandparents.
