There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

He is impressive indeed, especially for his age! I do wonder when his 'time will come'; when will new males arrive to take over the pride and what will happen with him?
Perhaps he has never even encountered other hostile males in his life, since he grew up with the friendly Tintswalos around him (from the same mothers?) and there have been no other known males around the Mbiri pride territory since the Tintswalos left. He has led a relatively easy life. So I wonder how the young Orpen/Mbiri male will react once a hostile adult male arrives. Despite his impressive size, he is not ready for a territorial battle, I assume. What do you guys think - how will this evolve? Surely for the pride's genetics new males are very welcome.
By the way, hope the second cub is also OK, since in this video, dating from 22 June, there were still 2 cubs around:
