There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

honestly, thats a valid point imo.
At least two (not to say three) of them do not prioritize mating. The only ambitious brother with the mentality of a 'common' lion of that age is K4.
However, i personally think that one of the matters isn't that they "don't throw themselves into battles"
it's more like, the fight comes to them and they run away. Even with all the advantages they naturally have, these boys still lack the gut stand up for themselves when facing a real challenge.
And is it just me or do they seem to have increased their tolerance towards other males from 2023 onwards?
In late 2023/early 2024, they challenged and faced BDM for territory. They roared as if they owned the north, and even managed to displace the dominant duo of the Nkuhuma pride.
However, a little later, they were seen tolerating the two BDM on a carcass.
More recently, they tolerated the Nkuhuma male in a carcass too, same lion they once beat last year.
I know that the carcasses involved in those more recent situation can be a factor in providing this type of tolerance, but it is still undeniably weird(?)

True, but as you very well said previsouly, we cannot assume anything.
But the fact is the Kambulas managed to displace the BDM and the Nkuhuma pride was vacated for quite a bit of time. But the boys for some reason went south, only to get beaten by Gijimas and then Plains Camp...
Even Talamati male took his chance at that brief time the pride didnt have a protector.
No wonder Plains Camp are now easily claiming the pride and territory like theirs.

How older is the Pretoriuskop male compared to the 2 KKBoys?
His mane is extremely dark and since the beginning of the partnership he seemed significantly more developed/older, these factors obviously make it easier for him to be at least the most popular with the lionesses. Which would normally be the main criteria for defining the dominant male i guess
