LEOPARD - HEAD ON

This is one of the memorable sighting of a Leopard in the recent times, its all about patience and perseverance when wildlife is involved. Behavioral knowledge will be an added advantage. Majority of us get really exhilarated when cats are sighted and forget the significance of value as ones finger will just be rattling all over the camera buttons. That is when the photographers get busiest of all times. If one is looking for just a picture of the cat, you will get it anyways. But if you are pursuing the best picture of all, then you will need to wait, sacrifice some pics, time and space. 

This is the best one i can relate it to, we found him walking ahead in the same direction, we know cats look best when head on. when i try to get closer he would just disappear into the bushes. I sacrificed some really good pictures while he was sitting right next to me at a very close distance just for getting this picture. I had to drive by without stopping for him to feel comfortable and make him come to me rather than me going to him. And after i drove he never came out, but i did not quit there, i had to wait almost an hour for him to come to us. 

Once he felt it was safe and sound, he came to the same distance what i missed but this time it was head on. I had all the time in the world to set the settings right and place the focusing points in the right place. At no point the cat was disturbed, and at no point I were disappointed.
