Indeed a beautiful maned lion...









" The Kalahari lion is a sub-species that behaves and looks different from other lions as a result of its adaptation to the Kalahari Desert environment.
Compared to other lions, it lives in smaller groups, covers larger home territories and hunts smaller prey. One of its favorite dishes is the Gemsbok (Oryx),  
The Kalahari lion is lighter and males have beautiful black manes.
We lately spend some time in the Kgalagadi Game Reserve and came across this beautiful Kalahari Lion Pride at Rooiputs in the Nossob River. "
