There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

I will add to post #92 that according to Doug Peacock in his book "Grizzly Years" he knew of a grizzly who would walk past a carcass, totally ignoring it, and preferred to hunt and kill for himself. Some grizzly bears become accomplished hunters while some haven't the foggiest idea how to go about it. Also, I wish to add: according to numerous books in my collection, I believe that up until the mid-1800s on the American prairie, bison ( American buffalo ) were heavily hunted by grizzlies. Of course, as is the way of the grizzly, they mainly targeted bison calves.
