I doubt the two Matimbas were involved in this altercation, and the article points out Ginger wasn't involved in the skirmish/fight.

The rangers didn't see the fight, so there's no point to jump into conclusions on who was involved. But seeing that the fight took place "very late that evening (22rd) or in the early hours of the morning(23rd)" and that Ginger "was found on the morning of the 23rd" and "was many kilometers away from his brother".  I find hard to believe Ginger had the energy to move as far after a "fight" or a "skirmish", and "it seems he has no new injuries"". In my opinion, Hairy Belly got caught alone sadly. Reply
