BEARS of the last frontier... The bears here are certainly a hardy breed, but even they have to avoid the harshness of winter by denning for as long as seven months of the year. Despite the fact that Denali has a reasonable supply of meat in the form of caribou, moose, and sheep. Bears here still depend most heavily on vegetation.
