There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

I don't think it's true for most species to necessarily derive pleasure from mating. It's instinctual for most species including lions, in so many species mating is a suicide mission for the male pretty much but they still do it. The mating instinct isn't driven through pleasure, sure the act might may or may not be pleasurable but that changes specie by specie. Lionesses literally feel pain during mating since male lions have barbed penises but the instinct to mate trumps it.
