Howzit guys. So, at Satara now, been an absolutely blistering couple of days, about 32 degrees C yesterday while in the South and arrived at Satara today where it topped 37 according to the thermo on the Ranger. We left Skukuza a little late this morning so sightings were not to be expected and didn't materialise, the bush was just too hot and pretty everything was laid up in the shade and still.
Signal is ridiculously poor so can't post too many pics and in any case they're still on my camera. Yesterday was a great day for males and I'm hoping you guys can let me know who it is we saw:
At about 07h30 at a pan on the S21 about 4km from the tar between Skukuza and Lower Sabie we had a pride on a kill from the previous day. 3 big males, 4 lionesses and 5 cubs. No pics yet I'm afraid, on my camera and no way is it uploading with such poor signal. I'm hoping the location is enough info for ID based on territory.
Then, after we left them and went back to the tar to Lower Sabie we came across a mating pair about 2km from LubyeLubye Bridge. Not the most mature male I've ever seen mating, I must say. Going to try and upload a pic taken by my son's friend on his mobile as we passed. Not the best but it's a clear enough image of the male.
