There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

If he doesn't see himself as a territorial male already, he at least is not going to be happy about having someone to share his spoils with when he feels he has no need for him.
Disagree, you are pointing out that Nkuhuma is better on his own then with any partner? Thats is just wrong.
Is he doing great? He was almost killed month or so ago, bad mauling wounds on his back legs, possible from PC boys or even Mhangenis if he came to close.
What spoils? He needs to hunt for himself, he prob needs to forfeit any kills he make when encounters any other prides or males in the area, with big, black maned partner around that wouldn't be the case.. And for mating, he was seen only few times with only 1 Mhangeni female and thats it, and that was also while ago, rest of the pride clearly doesn't want him and prob attacks/chase him when he gets too close.
He is no way better alone then with partner, and that doesnt go only for him, yet for any male, nomadic or territorial, lion world is all about numbers.
