There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.
The Marthly ‘pride’ just can’t catch a break. As soon as there’s a glimmer of hope, it gets dashed. The Marthly lioness was all that remained of the Marthly pride following a turbulent takeover. Then came hope when she gave birth to 3 cubs. But then a male leopard killed all 3. Or at least so we thought. Hope was restored when we found her again with a single female cub who she raised into early adulthood. But then the Marthly lioness was killed by the Plains Camp males and now this young lioness is all that remains of the pride. But we have seen glimmers of hope again. The new Marthly lioness has recently killed two waterbuck cows on her own.
So, she can fend for herself but will she find new males, have cubs and restore the pride to its former glory?
