There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Nhena and Tinyo moved South, Blonde and Mohawk followed, Dark mane followed and even the Imbali male was seen pushing (i think) south. Their territories overlap it seems.
Male coalitions are willingly shifting territorys to take over new prides and get acces to mate with its females. In order to do that they have to control arena on which that pride is operating and they shift unwillingly when they get pushed out by another coalition. Coalitions do not shift territorys just because they like to visit new places and risk injurys in confrontations with other coalitions. Imbali male already has many litters sired in Imbali pride and he is looking for more females and the Talamati females being in oestrus are bringing his attention. Blondie and Mohawk has sired their cubs in Talamati and Nkuchuma pride and are also looking for more and the Kambulas being in oestrus are bringing atention. Same was with Birminghams in 2018. Direction south is coincidental. If there would be pride with females willing to mate in other dirrection than south and weak enough competition (for example coalition of 2 rather will not try to expand and compete on territory ruled by coalition of 5 even if there would be females willing to mate). It is not like lion coalions are expanding only towards south.
Birminghams now have been pushed out of the arena on which their only pride is operating. It is not a willing shit of territory. It is not like they found females intrest in some other pride and willingly left Kambula pride behind to spent time with another pride. They were pushed out of the arena by Avoca males.

Avocas are pushing on Birminghams for months already and the Tinyo definitelly wasn't limping all this time. Moreover Blondie Avoca also has his episodes were he was limping and his limp was looking worst than Tinyo's. In general wild lions barely are ever in 100% perfect condition to fight. There are always some potential excuses like being too young, being too old, having slight limp or would, being a bit thiner than ussually and so on. It is what it is in the wild.

They can buy their time trailing Kambula subs throughout southern Londolozi and south-central Mala Mala, but it won't last forever. Avocas, N'was or PC males (depends on the dynamic in the given moment) will come to that arena as well and since Birminghams showed to be not able to hold their on so far it won't be better for them later on. It is obvious that the next dominant over Kambula pride coalition will not just move around small arena around Main Camp as it is way too small for a coalition of male lions.
