A gigantic Bornean tiger over its prey! Fossil remains from the Pleistocene indicate the tiger existed in Borneo in prehistoric times. This doodle is based on a jaw of overwhelming dimensions, as it would suggest an animal around 480 kg in life. This makes it one of the largest known cats if not the largest. It would have lived at a time when Borneo was connected to the mainland which fits the great size of other Pleistocene tigers found elsewhere in Asia. As Borneo became isolated the tigers seemingly shrank, as suggested by the more modest size of more recent t remains. This tiger would have looked a bit like today's Sumatran tiger except much bigger.
