The Baggage Handlers coalition males from Hwange!
This young coalition as mentioned in previous posts today dominate the Ngamo plains between the Bomani area and Camelthorn, the names that make up this coalition are Lesang the eldest and head of the coalition he is the best known as he is the last son of the Cecil male, then there is Half Tail is the youngest male in the coalition and then the remaining 3 are Delta, Qantas and Virgin.
The Baggage Handlers' - why, you may well ask, do they have that name? Quite a story: - in August 2018 they were youngsters around Linkwasha airstrip. The five youngsters took a bag that was in the open pod of an airplane that was parked on the airstrip and distributed the contents all over the airfield. Since then, they have been known as The Baggage Handlers!
These males are still young and have a promising future. Hopefully, they will have some luck and the park will provide some security as Hwange National Park has a long history of poaching its animals.
