They are present in the largest Conservation Units of the DF, as well as in rural areas.
In the National Park of Brasília this animal was frequent in the records, indicating that the protection of the park still keeps some maned wolves healthy.
One of the biggest risks to the species is the vehicle running over of individuals, eliminating healthy wolves that often do not even reach reproductive age.''
