Looks like we've had another case of cannibalism.

Young tigress killed & eaten around the would on neck/head at Bandhavgarh buffer.

There were pug marks of a male in an area of about 40-50 square feet. The post-mortem report confirmed that it was a three-year-old which separated from its mother a few months ago. The tigress’s skull & scapula were broken


They are saying territorial fight — but I think it was a case of courting rejection. Tigress that young often don't understand the game & a buffer male is more likely to push it too far. Reply
