From the Book : "Charting Yellowstone Wolves (25TH ANNIVERSARY)"

  • "Wolf #1 was tagged with an red ear tag as a yearling to go to Yellowstone... Blue ear tags went to Idaho." However, the plan was to send the adults to Yellowstone and the yearlings to Idaho. So when they realized that the wolf #1 was a yearling, they remove the ear tag and destroyed it.
