I feel like unrelated males just to spent less time togeter as well as they are not as much willing to follow coalition partner into battle. I am talking in general so pls don't point me out Thanda Impi coalition as such happens as well, but De Laporte might be like for example Solo and Cleo which had no teamplay what so ever. What I am going to is that I wouldn't be suprised at all if Avocas go and catch one of De Laporte by himself, even through De Laporte as supperior numerically coalition has bigger firepower than Avocas as coalition.
I see what you are saying but even related coalitions can often be cliquey, like ryan from ulusaba said, one of the selaties would always be by himself and that's why majingalanes were able to easily dethrone them. Nsuku/Nhena and Mfumo/Tinyo were also always in pairs, I don't think coalitions of unrelated males are anyless effective.
I was talking in general. Of course happens coalitions of unrelated males which cooperate with eachothers very well and happens coalitions of related males with do not cooperate with each others very well. I feel however that there are quite high chances that De Laporte won't cooperate with eachothers well while Southern Avocas spent whole life together and fought other males together. I feel Avocas would be more willing to suppport coalition partner risking his own life to do so. Those are just speculations however and we will see how really strong De Laporte males are as a coalition when we will see them against other about evenly match coalition.
