There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.
"From observations made in different places, in different Brazilian biomes, it has been found that jaguars use trees for different purposes. In the Southern Pantanal, where I have been working for 5 years, they predominantly use trees to rest and mark territory. In the Northern Pantanal, according to @ailton_lara's observations, in addition to resting, they use trees to watch the movement of their main preys at the riverside, eventually jumping from trees on caimans, for example. In the @institutomamiraua region, when the forest is flooded, researchers observed that Amazonian jaguars can spend long periods living up in the trees, hunting arboreal animals such as monkeys and sloths. The versatility of this species and the ability to adapt impresses me more and more."
