l. She bred with 21M as her sister 40F and another female in 2000.

m. She answer by aggressive protecting manner to her sister roaming and harassing her pups and venturing near her den in 2000.

n. Bred with 21M as 103F did in 2001. They raised a total of 11 pups to year end that year.

o. She is no longer seen or rarely observed chasing elk in 2002,but still remains alpha female of the Druid.

p. Bred with 21M in 2002.

q. Formerly Black, she now completely gray in 2003 at 8 year of age.

r. Died 4 months before her mate 21M on February 1st 2004 from wolves.

s. She produced in her life 5 or 6 litters for 31 pups

t. 27 of them reached year end of their birth years

Note : "Big Brown" [778M] & "Big Blaze" [838M] are of Druid Origin although their parents are not certain. In 2007-2008, Year of birth of those two ; the alpha is 480M and 569F, 302M is the beta. 302M/480M are brothers. All 3 bred. 778M was one of the yearlings/young adults who followed 302M into forming the Blacktail Deer Plateau. That particular behavior could and is why i suggest 778M is the son of 302M instead of 480M [he would have likely stayed with 480M]. 

This theory/suggestion/speculation, although the grandfathers of the wolves is already known since both mothers and fathers of the parents of 778M are the same [7F/2M for 302M & 480M & 286F/21M for 569F]

This create a new branch to the lineage of :

Wolf 42F (Alpha Female of the Druid Pack)


"All of the 31 originally reintroduced wolves are dead. The last to die was wolf #41F, originally of the Druid Peak pack, who was shot in a control action east of the park. She had a severe case of mange at the time of death. The last wolf to die in the park was her sister, #42, who was with the Druid Peak pack when she was killed by wolves from Mollie’s pack in late January 2004. All wolves currently alive in the population are descendants of reintroduced wolves."

"Number 42 died of natural causes on February 1, 2004. Her remains were found at the west end of Specimen Ridge, near a bull elk carcass. It appeared that other wolves had killed her, probably Mollie’s pack, whose territory centers around Pelican Valley"

"The Druid and Mollie’s wolves likely encountered each other at the carcass site and fought. Nearly nine years old at the time of her death, #42 was the last of the original Canadian wolves still living in the park. When another of #42’s sisters [41F] died in Sunlight Basin two weeks after #42, all of the original reintroduced wolves were dead."
