There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.
Marlon du Toit:" The forest has eyes. It’s always watching.
High up in the tree canopy langur monkeys survey the forest floor below. Their calls heard by all as they sight a mottled coat passing by. The deer don’t miss a thing and alarm loudly whenever the scent of leopard wafts passed their nose & even more so when their eyes lock together. In the thickets of the forest the ever cautious peacock takes account of every step it takes. It too, like the deer and the monkey, will fall prey to the stealthiest of them all. The forest has eyes and it’s always watching, always alert. When your own eyes finally do meet with those of the forest predator, the one that fears not the highest tree to pursue the monkey, or the most fleet-footed deer in the forest clearing. When your eyes finally lock together for however brief it may be, you’ll be taken captive as those yellow’s pierce right into your soul. You’ll never be the same. It’s impossible. Time spent spent with a Kabini leopard is unlike anything I’ve ever done before. "
