Coalitions of Kruger National Park

There are a lot more factors in these sorts of things beyond numbers.

What position are the coalitions in.. Are they nomadic or territorial? Who is the attacker and who is the defendant? What are the stakes for each groups and what are they fighting about? What's the health of the lions? Are they experienced fighters? Do they move as a group or tend to scatter? Does the terrain favour one group? Are there escape opportunities?
And even then luck is a factor. A lucky swipe at a bad spot can kill the most experienced fighter.

Its hard to predict unless they actually fight. Offcource the odds are a lot harder to overcome when your rival has a clear numeral advantage.
But I would not compare coalitions just on their name alone.

As for the Selatis. If memory didnt fail me, they were seen with wounds afterwards. So splintered as they may be, at zero hour of the takeover they fought as a group.

Yea, because of that is useless to even discuss this, but as you said, if both coalitions are in prime and healthy, coalition with number advantage is favorit, regardless who it is.

@Tr1x24 Yeah probably that ousted or one was killed by them or hunting accident or something. The last Leeupan male was seen nomadic last year a couple times. Last sighting I saw was May 2021 can't remember location.

"1/2 Leeupan males was spotted alone on the road ,after a long while of missing. This is a recent photo.  But not sure where is his brother .
2021-5.
Prior to this there was a report by someone he saw one leeupan male alone also couple months before .

Howzit guys. So, at Satara now, been an absolutely blistering couple of days, about 32 degrees C yesterday while in the South and arrived at Satara today where it topped 37 according to the thermo on the Ranger. We left Skukuza a little late this morning so sightings were not to be expected and didn't materialise, the bush was just too hot and pretty everything was laid up in the shade and still.

Signal is ridiculously poor so can't post too many pics and in any case they're still on my camera. Yesterday was a great day for males and I'm hoping you guys can let me know who it is we saw:

At about 07h30 at a pan on the S21 about 4km from the tar between Skukuza and Lower Sabie we had a pride on a kill from the previous day. 3 big males, 4 lionesses and 5 cubs. No pics yet I'm afraid, on my camera and no way is it uploading with such poor signal. I'm hoping the location is enough info for ID based on territory.

Then, after we left them and went back to the tar to Lower Sabie we came across a mating pair about 2km from LubyeLubye Bridge. Not the most mature male I've ever seen mating, I must say. Going to try and upload a pic taken by my son's friend on his mobile as we passed. Not the best but it's a clear enough image of the male.
