Shishangaan Male Lions

Casper close to Satara again. As all of the updates recently showed them on the H6 and not all in good condition and some (not definitive) reports of the Mayambula males on the H7 close to Satara, I was beginning to wonder if they'd abandoned that part of their territory.

Seems he was alone though. On a personal note, I'd actually had a trip booked to Satara for this month, if life hadn't taken a bit of turn I'd be there now. Would have been nice to make sense of it all and speak to the guides on the ground.

I was just thinking that!  Which of the brothers is he?  What a late-bloomer and by far the most impressive of the quad squad.  That mane covers his shoulder blades and is super dark.  Testosterone driven beast! There's always 1 or 2 visibly stronger males out of a coalition.  Reminds me of one of the Mantemahle Males.

All 4 Shishangaan males are seen together last couple days there's some videos around they are around satara just slightly north of the camp. Darkmaned one looks better. They have 2 s90 young males around in their territory atm on the Nsemani side. 5 Mayambula males are on S126 close to 3 sweni males. One mayambula male is limping. Sataras central pride have some new cubs.

Recent account about Casper. It seems that the threat represented by the Tumbella males is dismissed.

" One of the rarest things to find in the entire kruger national park, is the white lion, the Ghost of the kruger, Casper.
Casper has become a celebrity, an iconic lion, filled with stories to tell. Being the loner he is, he often wanders off into the unknown, and he's always chasing after females in the surrounding areas.
So much so, that he even later in his life took a pride in the nsemani area, near satara, his origins.

Agree, he is Xihamham's only son among the young Shish brothers - from whom he inherited this majestic mane shape - it's simply clear.
