There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Marlon du Toit: " A Female leopard agitates a male leopard to the point of snarling. Leopards in the #sabisands & in general are the complete opposite of social. You’ll only really see more than 1 if they’re related (mother & cubs, father & offspring), mating, male & female interacting etc. Very seldom do adult leopards simply “hang out”. In this picture, the female tries to seduce the male yet he’s not in the mood at all. Because of their fiery disposition they make for fantastic photography. "

Beverly Joubert: " Motherhood can test the patience of even the calmest caregivers. This gorgeous leopard mom seemed to be scowling while her playful cub tried her best to coax a reaction out of mum. It's always a privilege to spend time with these elusive cats, especially when they grant you a glimpse into their secretive worlds. This cub will soon leave its mom's side and begin the perilous journey to becoming a solitary, self-sufficient predator. Until then, she'll squeeze in as much playtime as mom will allow.⁣ "

Dereck Joubert: " Watching creatures we care about so deeply in these rare and special moments brings to mind a stand-out piece of conservation writing from 2019 – and this beautiful quote (the full article is linked in the bio): “Abundant multitudes of species, wild things in wild places, anchor beauty to the face of this planet. What is true is this: Wild things create and live in the remaining beautiful places. As wild animals disappear, what is lost is the world’s beauty. Winning the war against the natural in pursuit of accelerated material living, we lose the beauty that makes living worthwhile. That is not trivial. It is the most profound thing on Earth.” From ‘The Real Case for Saving Species’ by Carl Safina "
