There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

I have the impression that this lion which "doesn't want to share his meal" has a muscular weakness in his left hindleg or he is handicapped from this same hindleg...

I noticed the same. One hind leg appears a bit lame.

Hi. It's not an impression, the male was known as Limper and he always had an injured left leg. But he was in a good condition and the dominant one of the coalition.

Here's a link to some story/pictures about them : https://www.facebook.com/pages/KNP-Male-Lions/147233922045752?fref=ts

Hi, thank you very much for your explanations and for having shared your facebook page about these famous lions.

Glad to see that despite his injured leg this lion can always be a dominant male...

Look at The size of these male Lions compared to their femals! Never seen lions with such a size difference between The sexes! These are The xakanaxa males The smaller male (Lekan) in front with his skinny hind legs, The larger one behind is The dominant male(Renoka)

Subadult of the Charleston pride fighting with one of the Sand river male lion (dominant coalition of 3).
The Charleston is the one with the blonde mane, and he is slighty bigger.

Two of the southern Matimbas injuring a sub-adult of the Fourways pride. The sub-adult was first saved by the arrival of buffalos, but he died 2-3 weeks later saldy.
