Its really sad Incident, Happened on 15-December, 2014 at Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park.
A lion pride of 9 member killed a young sub-adult leopard. The male Lion name "Papa" give him final death bite while he is attacked and surrounded by one by one. Below is some Images.

Only natural, its usually the youngsters who don't realize the threat lions pose to them.

I notice the male chose to attack the sub adult leopards hind quarters as oppose to attacking the head/neck area they usually do when killing cheetahs. Seems reasonable, since even a youngster leopard is still a nasty foe who can inflict major damage.

Was just about to post these images myself. Sad and cool at The same time! Rare to see such battles between carnivores, so you gotta apriciate every single video/image you can find.
often when i hear about leopards beeing killed by lions it's usualy cubs, young and sub-adults who dosen't know the danger that lives out on The open plains! Also some old leopards that are to weak to hunt will often scavange from lions, is in a risk and sometimes killed, acording to MalaMala.
looks kinda like when faced with a hyena, lionesses blokking The way and let the male do the job against an admirable aponent.
Check out Leopard Fight Club, if you get a chance. Cool story of Jack (up n coming Male leopard) in the Masi Mara battling the Dominant Leopard for territory and finally winning.
Interesting that they both were fighting in a tree then imediately stopped once they heard the lion pride roars. The older male made the break out of the tree and ran just in time, jack was stuck in the tree. He was completely silent and escaped death, but shows the difference between the expierenced male and the rookie.
Yeah I have seen that great documentary. That moment when they stopped The fight was very interesting, and show's what experience can mean in a life or death situation. That's probably why male leopards can go around so confident when walking around on the ground!

Always sad to see cheetah's fall victim for other cat's atleast a leopard will eat the cheetah's, while Lions if not desperate will just kill them without eating them. Cheetah's are The only cat I know of who is in serrious danger for extiction because of other carnivores (Lions by far The biggest threat), this is because The nature reserves are few and The buffersone's are getting smaller and The cheetah is getting into more conflicts with lions. In this picture The other big spotted african cat has killed one (took place in Masi Mara, Kenya)
Thats why I don't like the "armor skin" argument when speaking about crocs. Weapons always outweigh defense in the wild. The predators need the weapons to stay ahead of the defense or they won't exist.
