It's an impressive feat for a young Male, you can see many new images and videos of him from this year and he's become a good sized Tiger.

IMO, a very large Male Lion or Tiger should be able to drag 1000kg for a short distance if the terrain isn't too harsh.

Something like that I think too when combining what can be seen in different videos and when looking some books and what people there tell. There are many times mentioned animals weighing between 500-1000 kg. And if someone feels, that it is not so much, just find somewhere a good big sack, put there one ton of sand and try to pull...... Wink That kind of reality check is healthy time to time. Something different than pushing or pulling a car.

Which is mentioned in that video!

Based on the available data like that juvenile tiger dragging the heavy female gaur through rocks, tiger breaking buffalo necks, and based on data posted by @parvez about "tiger breaking rhino neck" it's still very impressive.

Panther; can you show us this account of a tiger breaking the neck of a rhinoceros? A grizzly went face-to-face with a rhino once.

Never mind Panther. I found it. Tigers hunting and killing large pachyderms - post #25.

This is one video showing in the end tiger pulling/dragging a cow to cover of the woods and bushes. I was starting to think, that is it really impossible to find something, where tiger is clearly making it happen. Not miles here, but still that cow isn´t small and clearly tiger dragged it into the woods out of open terrain. And here it looked like to happen in a way indicating, that possible to drag something heavier too. That kind of cow can weight anything between 450-550 kg as far as I know. Difficult to say anything about distance, but that dragging from 1:22 forward looked to happen quite smoothly considering the size of that cow.

That's not a cow, that's a bull. It had balls!

Oh, that music and way they danced baffled me :) No wonder, that the bull seemed to be so annoyed, maybe that tiger was half-blind and thought, that he found a Lady :)

I figure that Bull was around 500-800kg when healthy and around 200-500kg with all its innards removed, the lion strains but still pulls it with strength to spare, the 1000kg drag strength limit seems reasonable for big males to me.

Many good videos lately with quite heavy animals, I think. Showing a lot of strength, but same time all proving, that when seeing in some document or book word "carry", it is some small animal or then writer have quite odd idea, what that word means.

For me this is still something what can be called carrying:

All other videos in this thread so far have been about dragging, IMO. So when seeing somewhere text claiming some predator carrying a cow or a horse.... what else can anyone do, but smile when thinking about sizes of a horse and a cow or a buffalo and trying to imagine a lion or tiger carrying something like that in mouth like a shopping bag :)

Leopard makes it look like easy, no doubt about that.

In next one climbing to tree at 1:05 This one has to be watched in youtube, leopard dragging or in this case can be said carrying whole zebra carcass up to tree. Not adult zebra, but not small one either compared to leopard.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REDv-PjhQ2Q&t=65s

One more even though not as big as that zebra before.
