Well it's not that I don't belive Christine, but I do also belive Almero who is a ecooligist and said he and a vertrenarian weighed The specimen, aswell as The people at Timbawati said it was weighed and that Christine had Nothing to do with this lion, probably different Lions.. And also what has that to do with old storries? Who has suddenly stoped happening..

"The people at Timbawati said it was weighed and that Christine had Nothing to do with this lion, probably different Lions"

Once again, it is 100% the same lion and she is the only one who specifically is mentioned and her bio as well from Timbavati reserve with the exact dates attached.

Anyway,
"why hunt adult zebra in Africa when there is so much easier prey! "
Why should lion hunt elephant when there is easier prey?
Why hunt a hippo or a giraffe or a bull buffalo etc.?

Carnivores are opertunistic, they take advantage of situations presented. They take on prey large and small, sometimes the win sometimes they fail. The accounts that are shown, already prove your statement wrong. Not to mention, these leopards are large males, specifically mentioned, they want the most meat they can get for them selves.

So your argument is factless compared to actual accoutns, images and data. You're obviously never going to admit that you're wrong, sorry but this debate is pointless to go on from here.

Lions and leopards are two different animals, The fact is a lion pride with male Lions present can't lose their kill, while leopards can, Lions does also have many more mouths To feed. A leopard is very opertunistic, but a zebra who would take a long time bringing down and can't drag it in to a hiding spott. Once on big cat diary a leopard killed first an impala then she spotted The calf and caught it, she took of with The calf and left The adult one for The bigger carnivores because she new she could not protect a prey so much bigger and heavy'er than themselves. Maybe some place's in Africa where there is not that much competition she will bring down zebra and wildebeest. I know leopards can take wildebeest some places. But in The video You posted almost all where young once.

And with The persian leopard, who is competition with a persian leopard and how high is The density? Almost Nothing and there she takes big prey.

It is commonly stated that the largest leopards live in Iran and Sri Lanka, where there are not other large predators and they are the top of the food chain. Here, the prey is relative smaller than in other parts like India or Africa, but still, there are reports that the leopards from the first areas are the largest ones.

However, after a deep research, I have found that this statement is false. Big leopards as big or bigger than those of Sri Lanka are captured in India and the average weights are practically the same. As for the Iranian leopards, some Namibian specimens match them in all aspects and in fact, Namibia have the record for the heaviest leopard. In this case, it seem that leopards can and do reach high figures, despite the presence of other large competitors.

Just my two cents. The data can be useful for your discussion.

I found this interesting video:

Don't know if it is real or not, but the images suggest a complete domination of the jaguar over the puma.

Suggestive for the leopard/puma issue, don't you think?

Marlin Perkins and Jim Fowler of 1960s Wild Kingdom. I'm not sure if their show was on the up-and-up or if some scenes were staged. One thing for sure; I never missed an episode.

You are correct. For the last time on this, they were seperate incidents. Christinas account
happened earlier when still with the project. The cat  weighed happened after Christine left
Both accounts are believable. That simple

Not sure if complete domination applies in all encounters, but certainly appears to
be the case this time. The puma hightailed it out of there.

There are actually 2 videos of Jaguars vs Puma.
One is a female jag cub that is smaller than the cougar and she dominates it and runs it off easily, the other the cougar looks to make the jag submit.
But neither jag were very large and jags in Arizona are smaller than in S. America because they are just recently making a combat from hunting. They are said to be the much more dominate animal between the two though.
Leopards are nothing short of tazmanian devils, they fight like they have a screw loose. Such violence and ferocity, if they were the size of a L or T, they would be the most dangerous cat alive, I have no doubt.
