Male tiger konda's true death reason?

I have read conflicting stories about how Konda actually died.
I have heard(read) from a couple of people that Konda was killed by Munna and Copters has told me he was killed by his two sons after he was injured.

Hear is what Tigers of Kahna had to say
"That guy (doesn't matter who he is talking about) has put in total Garbage such as: Konda was the biggest tiger in Kanha, and had his paw not been cut off, he wouldn't have died from an attack by his 2 sons, K1 and K2, or Munna is much smaller than Konda and K2, and he just took advantage of K2 and Konda's death to rule the meadows, Naak Kata and Pattewala male are way bigger than Munna, Wagdoh is the biggest tiger in Central India....The shit goes on, and is too long to mention them all here. Truth is, Konda was a small tiger of Kisli range, not in Kanha meadows, that was in fine health and right in his prime when he was slaughtered by Munna, a much bigger male in Jan 2008. The fight was completely one-sided, with Munna suffering not a visible scratch. K1 and K2 are makebelief names given to the link 7 bros, sons of Banda, not Konda. And one of them, the one called K2 by (doesn't matter), was believed to be killed by Munna in march 2009. "

Here is what is said on Konda's biography
Name               : Konda
Location           : Kanha National Park
Year of Birth    : 2001
Ancestry           : Son of Old Mukki male and Kitra Kudri female
Status               : RIP
Sex                   : Male
Species             : panthera tigris tigris

Konda was one of the biggest tiger at Kanha who could bring down with ease a one ton bison. He was master of a large territory of the reserve and slated to rule for a long time. No other tiger could match Konda's hunting prowess nor his power and strength. In his prime he sired many cubs.

He could have disseminated more of his prime genes had not tragedy befallen upon him. In spite of being the best managed park in India, Kanha National Park is subjected to poaching incidence now an then. This time the victim was Konda who was trapped in a poacher's snare and injured. The snare damaged his paw but not so much that he could not hunt.

In the meantime two males probably sired by him had reached adulthood and separated from their mother, hence were keeping together for some time as young male tigers often do. They hunted together successfully and grew stronger. Konda's presence in the area was not a welcome sign for the pair as he was a strong adversary and could come in their way of carving out their own respective territories. Tigers live a solitary life.

Eventually a territorial fight ensued with Konda alone in against the young but matured pair. The pair could have been no match for Konda but the injury took his toll and he was killed in a fierce fighting that terrified the forest guards in jungle camp nearby.

What is unfortunate is that territorial fights not always lead to the death of the adversary as there is plenty of room to run away before a deadly injury results fro

Pckts, you're really scaring me with your new style of debating. you're starting to act like an advocate for the downsyndrome known as Asianbuffalo.

Back on topic,
I've heard a whole bunch of different stories now that it's hard to believe what actually happened but one thing for sure, Munna didn't kill Konda nor did the other two sons of Banda.

now my question is, why are you still talking to Asianbuffalo.. this guy is as retarded as they come and the same moron was responsible for creating djkljljsljlskls (whatever his name was, god knows) I smashed him out of existence LOL

Quote:Truth is, Konda was a small tiger of Kisli range

This is bullshit, here's the video of Konda by Dr.Valmik Thappar and what he had to say..

the video speaks louder than some wannabe's words and you're still indulging in conversations with him.. here's the male Konda killed in the famous documentary of Kanha

Laxmi's male, estimated to be about 10 feet long

Another angle of Laxmi's male

How much more proof do you need that you're copy pasting a delusional and heavily biased moron. Asianbuffalo's Munna isn't the same Munna the Indian Tourism Industry knows of, Asianbuffalo's Munna is a tiger out of Fantasy Land and what not, trust me.. this is such a waste of my time but since not much is going on around here, I had no option but to post. Here's one more retarded quote by him below, I could find you tons but it isn't worth the time and effort anymore.

Once again, this is NOT asian buffalo.
What does konda killing a male have to do with konda being killed? What does the fact that the male he killed being close to 10' long have to do with anything? Most males are close to that, his head and body looks to be in the 6'-6'.5'' range which is normal for a prime male tiger. Just because a person looks small next to a male tiger, so what? Of course we are going to look small, they are massive animals.
Where in all your posts do you post anything that has to do with how konda was killed?
How can you speak so confidently about Munna not killing Konda but not be positive about what actually happened?
Konda may be a large male, but that doesn't mean he was larger than many others. We have all seen these "large males" that don't look quite as massive compared to other tigers as we once thought. Most tigers are massive, they are usually within a certain size frame, its not till we see them with other tigers do we realize who is actually "massive".
Like Bhoka and Khali there is a serious size difference, katezari and saturn or Gabbar and Saturn, there is not. We can also assume that all 3 would be fairly close to each other in size.

I would love to hear Apollos take on what has been said, he seems to carry no alterior motive, I would also love to hear anybody else's opinion.

Copters, stop being so defensive because somebody disagrees with your opinion, these are relevant to this topic and deserve to have as much info that is available shown.

Min ha is a poster on Tigers of Kahna, not "Tigers of Kahna" to my knowledge.

Now back to the actual topic

Well , He was 2nd largest tiger in kanha but because of death of Konda [the biggest tiger in the fight with other male tiger] now Banda is the biggest tiger..The name Banda is due to his tail which is cut when he was a cub.. It was my wish to take picture of this male tiger.& i was behind him for a year. Finaly I managed to take it but due to exietment I took too close pictur & you can see the result......[his tail is not in the frame Sad] When I showed this picture to some of the guides in Kanha guess what they did??????? They performed NAMASKAAR to this !!!!! as if he is God to them........:) I was touched.......:)
Poster: Sandeep Hinge
Date: May 4, 2008

Now a response to the claim of being the 2nd largest
It is incorrect to say that this tiger is the biggest tiger in Kanha. You are not taking into consideration the big male tiger in Mukki, the large male tigers in Supkhar and Halon valley. Pl dont forget that out of 12 ranges of Kanha National Park, only 3 ranges are open to tourists. Nice photo though...
Rajarshi Banerji
http://www.indianaturewatch.net/displayi...04-05-2008 21:16:11Kanha has nearly 100 tigers and it's Core Area itself is about 940 Sq km.Hence it is difficult to say which is the largest tiger. But this boy sure is BIG !!!

I think Munna is highly over exaggerated here, especially in the size department.
Munna is not a SUPERHERO to kill all the tigers in Kanha.
Regarding Konda, he is definitely a large male. Konda is anyhting but small.
Check this video of Konda

But there is a mistake on the details given in the Konda profile, which I will be changing soon. The only mistake is that Konda was not injured in the poachers snare, it was the limping male who got caught in the snare.
Konda ruled Kisli, Limping male ruled Mukki. Both died in 2008, so thats why the confusion on the snare thing.
But Konda was not killed by Munna, thats wrong.
Munna moved from Mukki to Kanha meadows and Munna's brother Pattewala moved from Mukki to Kisli.
Pattewala lived in Kisli range but he was not able to dethrone Konda.
Some beleived Konda was killed by Pattewala.
But the end of Konda came when the Link 7 brothers (Arjun and Bhim) moved to Kisli to establish a territory.
Konda died in the territorial fight with the Link 7 brothers.
Both the brothers were seen in the area before and after Konda's death.

Copter used this guy to quote, so I figured I would use his comments on Konda's sizeKshitij Degaonkar1 year ago in reply to jagroar8309   I never got an opportunity to actually see Konda or Madla. But from the documentary of Panna, Madla looks incredibly huge...much bigger than any of the other tigers of Central India(even bigger than Waghdoh for that matter! :) ) From videos and photos, Konda looks slightly bigger than Bamera. As for Waghdoh and Shivaji, I feel Shivaji could be probably bigger than Waghdoh too.. Waghdoh is bigger than Bam but then you still can't put him in the league of Kaziranga's tigers...those are giants!

Do you have any proof of this?
I have seen lots of info and so far it is very murky, I have seen that he was killed by a male or in infighting but even the indian nature watch photographers said there are many false reports and conspiracy theories.

Here is another talking about Munna true sizethuetruyen123456789 5 months ago  None of the tigers you mention can even hope to match Wagdoh male in terms of sheer size. And this  collared male of kanha is noticeably bigger than wagdoh. One of the most experienced naturalists who has worked at kanha for years and also visited tadoba frequently, has seen both this collared male and wagdoh male, and his response was this collared male is bigger and taller than Wagdoh. He also said if he had to match, then this collared male and Munna the CAT of Kanha matched closely, but Munna is more aggressive and powerful and happens to be his favorite.

A few more points.
Both Munna and Pattewala were there in the Meadows and Kisli around 2 years before the Link 7 brothers entered Kisli.
But Konda had no trouble at that time frame in being the Dominant male of Kisli.
Konda died in a territorial fight.
Konda's death concides with the entry of Link 7 brothers to Kisli.
Both the brothers were seen in the area before and after Konda's death.
Both the brothers continued to live in Kisli, until Arjuna (the collared male) was kicked out of Kisli by his brother Bhima (the domiant and the bigger one).

Hope it helps

And I'm firm on my opinion, I think Wagdoh is the largest male ever from the Central Indian Landscape.

It does and it doesn't, no links to any eye witnesses saying that, and no eye witnesses of any fight between them. Multiple photographers specifically stating different things, none of which state how he was killed. Just because a tiger is dominate over his sons or challengers one day doesn't mean he will forever, especially in a 2 year time frame.

In regards to Munna, there is definitely no over exageration, he is a massive tiger. Not up for debate, to many photos, videos and eye witness accounts confirm it. Just use your eyes, he massive.
