you're right Tigerluver, both these sub-adults are pretty large for their ages and can easily compare with dominant males in other parts of the country.. would love to find out which one of the two will challenge KZT085 for the territory.. If my memory serves me right, KZT023 was also the alleged father of KZT085 so history is bound to repeat itself.. we've seen it all in Bandhavgarh, Tadoba etc etc..
I remember a quote from Kanwar Juneja who photographed KZT023 live and he said KZT023 was easily the largest male he had ever seen and he was very familiar with Bamera and other famous males around Central/Northern India and looking at KZT023's dimensions, one must not be surprised..he truly was the biggest photographed raw in daylight but then there's plenty other from camera trap that can easily compare with his size. Does that mean KZT023 was larger than Waghdoh as well? He did say all of the Tadoba tigers he has seen. TFS

Today in evening safari we had wonderful farewell by link 7 female, 20 jeeps were waiting for her just 100 mtrs away from us ,but she just came and crossed the road just 10 feet from us no one cud see her exept us. Will have to wait for three month to see her again. ALL WELL ENDS WELL Here she is starving, but you can see her large frame still. Must be a big male that is lying next to her. Waghdoh looking lean and mean.
The older he gets the more drastic weight fluxuations I see on him, he got very skinny (for him) last year as well then put on a lot of mass. It's not just "gorged" weight, you see it in his body densisty. I wonder if during this time of year he hast to hunt a smaller faster prey? Who knows, just an observation. He is getting quite old now, and its probably harder for him to hunt now... I often see him putting on a lot of weight during the calfing season every year, when its a high density of young animals that are easy to hunt! Love the waghdoh silhouet with the beatiful landscape. I always like these shots cause it gives you appreciation of how lucky you really have to be to see this animal, such dense brush, you really have to have great guides.

When you acctually see one in the Wild, and especially a male like Wagdoh, it gives you goosebumps! |
