There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Note: This tutorial is update for new editor on 23-Oct-2015
If you are looking to upload image from your computer, laptop, tablet, mobile or any other device then this tutorial is not for you, please go to here http://wildfact.com/forum/topic-how-to-upload-image
In this tutorial we teach how to insert images in your post from other websites, like photobucket, facebook, google image, tinyurl or any image on internet. Please follow the below steps

1. First Click on the image icon at the top of the Text Editor as shown in the below image.

2. Now an inline  popup with text boxes will appear, as shown in below image.

3. Go to the image which you want to insert. In this tutorial I am inserting an image (this is the link of image used in this tutorial:-  http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2013/0...oy-670.jpg) from google. You can use image link from any other website.
a). Copy the link of image in the text box as shown in step 1 of the below image.
b). You can also set image width and height but it is optional.
c). Now click on "Insert" button as shown in step 2 of the below image, this will insert the image inside text editor at the position where you were typing.

4. You can see the image inside text editor as show in below image.

5. Now complete your writing or copy paste the text etc. Or you can follow the same above procedure to insert more image.

6. Click on "Preview Post" If you want to see post before final posting OR click on  "Post Reply" to finally submit your reply or thread.

This is how you will insert image from any other source from internet. Similarly you can insert image from any source as long as you can get the link of image.

Thanks, Sanjay. I have a few questions.

1 - I followed your advice, but still didn't manage to post an image from Photobucket. It fails at step 9 and it could be a result of the setting I use for my albums: apart from one, all my albums in Photobucket are 'private'. The reason is it took me a long time to construct tables and find remarkable photographs. I'm willing to share some of it, but not everything. Could you adapt the system we use in such a way I'm able to use photographs from private albums?

2 - If I want to use a photograph or table I stored in an album (at Photobucket), do I need to go to Photobucket first before opening this forum and start writing? If so, do I need to go back to Photobucket if I want to copy and transport another one? If affirmative, could you adapt the sytem we use in that it would limit going left and right if inserting a photograph?

3 - Is it possible to use both programs (Photobucket and this forum) at the same time? If so, would it be possible to browse through all my albums at Photobucket while writing a post for this forum?

4 - Is it possible to insert the image I want to use completely (full size) in the text when writing a post?

5 - Is it possible to insert images and texts in the way we used to (referring to AVA), as that system seemed to be a bit more friendly userwise?

6 - At the bottom of every post, there is a remark about 'attachments'. If I click, I'm directed to my computer. If I want to use a photograph or text on my computer, do I have to follow the same procedure?

Sanjay,

I followed your advice and saw your video. I recorded every detail and then printed what I had written. I then used it to post a picture from Photobucket. It didn't work.

I tried again. I made some small changes, because every computer is slightly different. In the end, after a few days of trying, I finally succeeded. I now know how to upload pictures from Photobucket in both browsers. I wrote another tutorial based on my experience and posted it on the thread 'B2 and other ...'.

In spite of your great effort, the tutorials and my success in uploading, we have to consider the criticism.

- Compared to AVA, the system used for uploading isn't as easy as the system AVA used.
- I'm also not yet able to resize the picture I uploaded.
- Same for attachments and uploading from the computer.
- I also lack a kind of overview, meaning I can't see the result of what I write in combination with the picture I uploaded.
- The Text Editor is too small as well, I think. This could result in more edits.

All in all, I wonder if the system we use allows for easy access. We have to consider new posters.

Considering the fact it will take you a lot of time to set up a system that can compare to AVA regarding posting and uploading, I propose we give it a try. If the current system still causes problems a few weeks from now, we have no option but to change a few things. Every new system has a few problems and flaws. They only show when the system is used and tested.
