There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Some shots of K4 from the Sunrise Safari on 4th December. You can see how much better his wounds are looking.

K3 & K4 Today December 7, 2024
Tracked down K4 and K3 this morning, resting after a wet and chilly night. K4’s leg wound is looking way better, but couldn’t get a good look at his head wounds. Shortly after we left, the brothers got up and ran towards some hyenas making a noise a short distance away - K4 running with little difficulty but his leg will heal well in time.

K4
"A little walk by from K4 yesterday afternoon. Moving much better, hopefully the muscle will regenerate over time. Incredible how resilient these beautiful creatures are. Very happy to see this.
He is still with K3. Not sure where the brothers are."

Quite likely those scars in their faces are due to mating rights fights, K5 especially has some huge facial scars.

Still no footage of K5 mating though, but I hope thse scars are proof he is getting more interested in females and territorial behavior, more willing to fight for it, still they gotta reunite, they already can't defend themselves against other coalitions as 4, never mind 2.

The North had stability with Matimba, Bboys and N.Avoca, coalitions of at least 3 males, then after that no solo male or duo has granted it long term stability, regardless of the pride, S8, BDM and PCM all lost all their cubs in the Talamati/NK prides, and it doesn't seem Mantimahle wants to properly take over NK pride in the long game, reason why I wish Kambulas would fight for it ASAP, 4 males might be what that and maybe other areas need atm.

The next Generation of Kambula males are coming... Maybe they'll take it.

Older ones are barely 2yo, this is a conversation we should have 3 years from now, if the cubs make it.
