I hope the Nwas are able to catch one or two of them alone, giving them the opportunity to drive them off. If the whole crew comes in, it would spell disaster for the prides and cubs, especially given their penchant for killing cubs. This has been my biggest concern, since these boys have been hanging more all together, and in really good condition. There is literally nowhere they can't go, and no pride they cannot take, when they stick together.
If that was true they would had chased the Gijima male lions. Although they have been looking strong and healthy.

Guides in the south seem extremely convicted that there are still 6 Nkuhlus around, for that i try to keep my hopes alive. But indeed such a long time no photos while all others pictured.

Gijimas control a rather sizeable territory, so they could well have slipped through while the Gijimas were in another area. If they came through 5 strong, in their current condition and seeming confidence, I have no doubt, there is literally nowhere in SS that these boys cannot go.

update: picture taken November 2023 Nkuhlu male #4(likely not a very recent picture, author is not in KNP)
According to local guides at Kirkman's Kamp & Lion Sands, all 6 Nkuhlu brothers were accounted for during this past 4 months (even thought no pictures of #4, which is honestly a bit ridiculous imo). It is said one of them is a bit skinny and limping, preferring to spend his time more east, in Kruger.
I guess he is still there. But seperated from the others and visibly not fit. So not really worth seeking out with the tourists when you can just as easily show them his brothers.
Or he is just not in a area where tourist are allowed.

Looking back at some of their pictures they seem to barely have any big difference in terms of development, but ofc being that young i assume it just haven't kicked in for any of them, thats why so similar lol.
I wonder what Nkuhlus are littermates to others?
We'll never know for sure ofc but the ones i see one of the most resemblance are N4 and N5, or N4 and N6...
