There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Good to see he is bouncing back. Not sure what he was afflicted with, but whatever the vets did seems to have helped.

On one hand I’m so happy, this really improves his chances, especially considering he ate food after the treatment. On the other hand tho, the vets have possibly just saved a key member in the strongest coalition in Savuti. How is that fair for the surrounding lions? It would make sense if it was a HWC but Sekoti had no exterior injuries. I’m extremely intrigued to find the reason for vet care.
Yeah I'm also very conflicted by this. While I am happy that a life was saved, as you said, humans aiding the recovery of such a powerful coalition from a natural disturbance may have implications for the surrounding lions. It might also create a unhealthy and unsustainable precedent whereby the ranges will now be expected to treat pretty much every naturally injured/sick lion within their traversing area.

Nobody I follow / talk to knows why he was treated which is furthering my belief in thinking that something is possibly being covered up. No matter what it was, for now these boys are definitely trying to expand with the coalition most in danger being Tsunami and Gaam who control Marsh Pride, and are around 13 years old now so I don’t think Sekoti makes much difference. When they eventually lose the pride, the Renegades will be the most likely victors of that area. We’ll see if vet treatment becomes common over there, I personally hope it doesn’t unless the injuries are man made.
