Nkuhlu males

There is a case where a coalition partner killed his own blood brother.  Bon jovi, son AND grandson of Sepo, did that to his partner.  Their mom was the lioness paired with the well-known Lady Liuwa.... This famous lioness never could get pregnant, so the rangers introduced Sepo to help boost the lion population in the park where the last lioness lived for years alone.

Smudge (#1).
Really great video.Guide claims all 6 brothers are seen in Kirkman's Kamp occasionally, which is really great. Just unfortunate that we barely have any footage. Hopefully andbeyond channel can share more of them and more frequently.

She says no seventh member, he could have splited or died, and of course we know that would be DeLaporte male. Its safe to say he is gone.

I am under the impression the guide in the video (does all the episodes so far) operates more in Ngala/Timbavati and she just goes by what their andbeyond colleagues in Sabi Sands told her. Not sure how recent it is, it is just posted recently. But I concur that Dreadlocks is likely gone unless he miraculously emerges one day.

Yea the reserve introduced new males too soon and the existing lions were still trying to get along and raise little cubs. I love that she did have company and she was a great auntie. She was an amazing lioness! Glad to see her mentioned here.

Do you know what has been happening since?
This is slightly off topic so should we move?

We are always for conversations on new lions, any lions really, but especially lions we don't hear a lot about. So, if you'd like to continue the conversation in the proper thread, I think that'd be great! Thanks, my friend!

Oh, I wish I knew more info. about that area and the lions living there.  It seems to be a black hole of an area to get to know the lion population.  I'll share more as I discover additional facts about them.   It's sad, though, that Bon Jovi killed his own blood brother as it's almost unheard of.  Maybe it was a combo. of being very inbred, plus other potential stressors.

Most likely it was just a case of Bon Jovi having had enough of him. Its rare, but lions are not exactly saints.

Did you even read the above where a post stated that other lions were introduced prematurely and that also could have been a stressor?  You are very dismissive in your posts at times.

Same thing happened to the Addo boys, which also was the direct result of people being involved. Matter of fact, when they relocated the three of them, the first one killed was killed by his two brothers when they awoke from the anesthesia, they had been put under in order for them to travel to their new location. Sounds like there may be one common denominator in these two instances. A conversation for a different thread, I suppose.

3/6 Nkhulu males with Sand River pride females in Tengile, by Kelli Radcliffe

@Tr1x24 didn't Nkhulus kill only one Sand River lioness?

IIRC the WILDwatch guide said a similar thing that they killed multiple SR females.

I am unsure how many SR lionesses they killed, but that sure is a nice job on the video.
