Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. The King of Manyoni!

The impressive LM10 also known as Charger. His darkmaned partner Ghost was killed earlier this year by the Kalahari male & his partner unfortunately. LM10 has now joined up with a younger male. The younger male is about 4 years old, so he is still fighting for dominance. However there are 2 new males on the reserve so competition is intense.

Last moments of the White King Of Sabona.

"Nature can be impossibly cruel; gored by a buffalo, abandoned by its family, this 13 year old white lion had found a (relatively) peaceful spot to take in its last sunset"

Both him and his sister have died now.

"The story of the renowned white lions of Sanbona has come full circle. All chapters have been finished, and this book is now sadly closed.

In 2011 two wild white lion cubs were born to the then mixed pride of Sanbona.

Through the years, they grew up and learned to survive in this harsh Little Karoo environment.

The lion and lioness (31 and 30) soon became an iconic duo on the reserve with their white coats and icy blue eyes. The male lion’s contributed to the lion metapopulation when one of the tawny females in the pride gave birth to two male cubs in 2015, who were then translocated to as reserve in Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Over the years the lions have been observed hunting various species from aardvark to giraffe, they were resilient lions who persisted through the drought and against many odds.  Now, after 12 years they have lain down their heads on the Sanbona ground for the last time.

Old age, injuries from large prey encounters and finally the severe storm conditions that descended over Sanbona earlier this week has claimed both their lives within 5 days of one another.  They will be remembered by many across the world for their beauty, their chilling blue stare, and their contribution to the Sanbona Lion Project.

They have paved the way to a new lion chapter on Sanbona.

Wow, very sad indeed. I was unaware of any other white lions in the wild, outside of the three we hear about regularly. These two really had it rough their whole lives.

I also had no idea there were more white lions. Im not sure this is a wild place tho? Maybe I'm wrong but I think it is a controlled semi-wild or managed place?

Wild but just smaller managed reserves. I only really followed these guys at Sanbona and the ones at Pumba for their white lion projects on those reserves.

New male recently brought to Schotia private game reserve, Eastern Cape Addo; To introduce new genes to their lions. Known as the Barbary lion, aka Cape lion. I believe he is 5 years old.

In some unfortunate and outright sickening news, Netsai, one of two male lions that took over the pride Cecil controlled prior to his death, has been killed by a piece of sh** trophy hunter as well. Don't know all the details but it's said to have happened some time last month on the Ngamo side of the Ngamo-Sikumi Forest.

Nestsai and his brother/coalition partner Humba

Mananga Pride lioness. Not sure what the future holds for their cubs or the Shish Pride's cubs as it's been 5 weeks without a sighting of the larger Trichardt male.
