There was 2 RP males, 1 run away.

Fight didnt lasted long, for what we saw, i dont think thats enough time to fataly wound him and he looked fine, unless there was more fighting afterwards, or they cut his artery or something, so he bleeded out.

What is strange that they where seen with same male few days after that.
He was likely badly injured when he was nearby of the other three males.

Umbabat report: Two males were on a Buffalo kill, they were approached by the 3 Birmingham males, one male ran away and the other was attacked. He was badly injured in his rear right leg, he lay down after the attack, then was seen walking a little. He was with the Birmingham males for a few days. Since Friday, he was alone under a tree and never moved from there.

"On the first of August, the three Birmingham coalition 'The White Male and his Brothers' ventured into the Umbabat area in search of a territory and pride to establish dominance over. During their journey, they came across one of the three male lions from the Pride River and launched an unjust attack upon him. Despite his valiant efforts, he sustained severe injuries that he bravely endured for a week before ultimately succumbing to them yesterday. RIP, mighty King.

Some major arteries in their back legs, and as we saw with the Styx Male, NYM partner, it does take much to hit one of them. I can only assume that is what happened here, he definitely received some nasty bites to his back legs.

Yea, we can see black, old blood in between his legs, he lost a lot of blood.

You never know in these mauling, it comes down to luck, some survive nasty wounds, some die from few bites, as you say, if they hit big artery, its game over.

Seems some folks were believing it is Skorokoro, according to the comments. Either way the Birmingham Boys, while young, are making a statement. How many cubs in the River Pride? What will be interesting, is how the remaining River Pride Males react to this.

Its not Skorokoro.

This guys dont control River Pride, they come from River Pride in Timbavati, who are now with Vuyelas.

All this is happening in Umbabat, which is north of Timbavati.

Understood, and thanks for the correction. I understood it to be one of the River Pride Males, not Skorokoro, was only mentioning the confusion that resulted when word of his death was spreading.

Your right.   Umbabat reserve themselves created the doubt.   Even with their latest post they seem ambiguous.  But everyone I’ve asked us confirmed it to not be Skokorro but 1/3 RP Males.

The 3 boys must have kept coming back giving him beatings over the few days they were all together because the RP male was in excellent shape and I highly doubt 1 altercation killed him. Like you guys said luckbwore out on him and they must have done major damage to his hind quarters and he bled out. Poor guy but great for BBoys! It's so ironic, 1 day later on any of these Boys might meet the same fate they did to RP male.! Lion life is amazing! What goes around comes around!

More information about the sighting of the white male: He was seen at Op Goedehoep farm (Ingwelala) and he headed towards Umbabat Boundary road. He was with one tawny male only, info came in later that the tawny male was on Buffelsbed, maybe a km away from each other and the white male heading to where the River pride male died 2 days ago.
