I remember that the encounter RRM had with 2 Tintswalo Mandevu and Ncile I believe, RRM got the worse part, however, he was able to inflict a beating on both of them.
The Tintswalo males had to rest to recover and stayed still in the same place for a couple of days.

Red Road vs Mandevu - Looks like Red Road had him by the snout and he couldn't do anything

Has there been any footage of Mendevu after the fight? The way Red Road was biting into his upper jaw / snout area looked horrid.

Hopefully his jaw wasn't severely injured.

Damn crazy looking fight. RR is doing good protecting himself and his pride. I guess payback for what mandevu & tinswalos did to him last year

Tintswalos where very young and inexperienced then, at that time RRM was much stronger then them.

Even now we see how strong RRM is vs prime Mandevu.

Where were they? We’re they both on a patrol? Did one enter the other’s territory?
Lambile is fiercely loyal to Mandevu, if he’s not around I wonder if he succumbed to TB.
Is Ncila doing territorial patrols now? The pride and Mandevu need him!

Few lions would take the opportunity to try to go for the kill in a 1v1 against a prime rival, even if there's confrontation most would be happy in just holding their ground or chasing the opponent away.

RR is a beast of a warrior.

Mandevu had deep into Red Road male territory, Mandevu was scent marking and roaring. Red road male is a lion to don't mess up

I am just impressed he used that particular shokehold. Usually they use that for prey as its to dangerous to use for lions..
Mandevu must have made some really big mistakes to end up like that.

There is a video that w a caption intimating that members of the Nharu could have assisted in some form. Maybe even by distracting him. The experience of Red Road came in quite handy and Mandevu had no answer to the stranglehold he was under.
