Which isn't ideal.

An experienced lioness would be a god send for those 3 subs. The more mouths to feed argument doesn't matter when you can't catch anything. An older lioness would take 25% of the food and provide 90% of the food for all 4, there are literally no downsides to it.

I don't understand this point. They will hunt when they're hungry, and their success rate would probably be 5x higher if they had someone who actually can hunt with them. Their amateur hunting attempts are only gonna keep them afloat for so long, a week long run of unsuccessful hunts is all it'll take to weaken them and it's all downhill from there.

I agree more with your position my friend @sik94.

The  downside is that the experienced lioness now has less food than she has in her own.

Just throwing an experienced lioness in a group does not just suddenly level up the entire group.
Lions cant communicate like we do. The Tsalala lioness wouldnt just take charge and put the rest through hunting school quickly. Hunting strategies would have to be adjusted on the field as they hunt and learn from every failed hunt.

Having an experienced lioness there doesnt matter if she cant catch anything due to mistakes of her hunting companions. And if she does catch anything, it remains to be seen how charitable she will be to three lionesses she just met and has  no emotional attachment too. So she will just leave.

Which is why its important for the subs to develop their skills themselves first. So they have something to offer to potential partnerships.

Is there any concrete reason why Sassy lost condition so quickly and passed away? She always used to be excellent condition and maintained that even when she had to take care of 4 subs when the Tumbelas invaded. What happened this time?

She was attacked and mauled 2 times in a very short span of time. After Ximhungwe/Gingerella attack, she abandoned subs and started to lose condition, also stress of all of this took its tool.

From the timeline provide, she was attacked at least twice in no more than a 15 days time span....but probably at least three times because the post about the 'first' attack sounded like it happened yet again.  Basically it's hard for a lone lioness to recover from a minimum of three back to back attacks because there are no pride members to help feed her in her weakened state.  If she had at least another member around, who knows....  We didn't see how severe they were either.  They were most likely very brutal ones....two by male coalitions and then the final attack from the adult lionesses.

When the Tumbellas invaded, the pridequickly got on good terms with them and held a considerable territory with nearly no competition.she could run, feolic and roar all she wanted with nearly no negative consequences.

Now, she was a lone fugitive among hostile lions that took her land. Any move she made she had to worry about attracting her enemies. Hunting is a noisy activity so a lot of time ahe had to decide against it to avoid a fight. Other times its probably what got her in trouble and she had to abandon kills or fight. Eventually the wounds and lack of food added up to a point she no longer could recover from.

It is possible that in her weakened state she developed sicknesses like sepsis aswell. Which can also kill an animal pretty fast.

The last of the attacks that have been mentioned are said to be carried out by the Ximungwes. Does that mean we are suspecting Sassy was mauled fatally by her own daughter?

Most likely Sassy died later due to starvation and exposure etc and not directly in the claws and teeth of another lion.

But yeah, if Gingerella participated in the skirmishes, she would be indirectly responsible for the death of her own mother

Yes, based on reports from rangers.   Both ximunghwe lionesses mauled her.
