There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

I'm hoping that this lioness allows him a little extra milk from time to time.

Imbali girl
"Snapped in the Kruger on the Mluwati concession. This beautiful girl was chilling with 11 lionesses and one sub-adult lion. We were lucky enough to chill with them for a while and get some incredible photos."

5th Mantimahle and son are further south.

They are still under Imbali/S8 male, but he doesnt hang with them that often anymore, as he is more with few Talamatis.

New Talamati cubs
"When Wesley and I first arrived at Pungwe last month, we were excited to hear Tim tell us to keep our eyes open for lion cubs expected to be born soon. The Mbali male had recently taken over three break-away Talamati ladies, quickly mating and getting all of them pregnant.

Over the next weeks we watched the four of them, making note of their patterns and desperately hoping they wouldn't have their babies in the Sabi Sands. Then one day, around December 16th, suddenly one of the mommies was no longer pregnant. The first litter was born, in the Manyeleti!

We soon figured out that they had made their den site not far from Pungwe, and over the next month Wesley and I patiently watched and waited and searched. On January 16th exactly one month after they were born, we took a spur of the moment drive and we struck gold.

Tucked into the edge of a cool thicket, there was mommy with three little cubs (what Wesley and I like to call "teeny tinies"), nursing and tumbling around. We sat and watched with hearts in our eyes for hours. Getting to be the first people to witness their existence is unlike any feeling I've ever known.

Welcome to this wild world little darlings. Good luck!"
