The Maputo and Kumana were seen together on a territorial patrol recently. It seems that both males joined forces!! Incredible good news for the ageing Kumana male.

That's pretty incredible, is this a first where two actively challenging lions ended up joining forces while one of the males was already dominant over the pride and territory? Amazing stuff. Btw, I thought the Kumana male was really old, I know he had a few brothers but how old is he? 12? He put up a very strong fight to defend his dominance initially although now they will clearly be sharing the role.

The Kumana male had 2 brothers and he is around 11 years old.
